The Montana State University Bobcats hockey team had an impressive victory over the Boise State Broncos in their season opener. The Bobcats dominated the game, outshooting the Broncos 46 to 18 and scoring six goals to the Broncos’ one. Ryan Perius had two goals for the Bobcats, and Micah Crum scored the lone goal for the Broncos.
The Bobcats’ goalie Jorgen Johnson had an outstanding performance, stopping 40 of the Broncos’ 18 shots. The Broncos’ goalie Brad Johnson also had an impressive outing, stopping 40 of the Bobcats’ 46 shots.
The Bobcats were 0 for 4 on the power play and the Broncos were 0 for 10.
The Bobcats have set the tone for the season with this impressive win. They will look to keep the momentum going when they face the Broncos again tomorrow night.
