The Montana State University Bobcats hockey team pulled off an impressive 5-3 win over the Utah State University Aggies on Friday night at the Eccles Ice Center. The Bobcats outshot the Aggies 48-40 and managed to keep the Aggies scoreless on the powerplay. The Bobcats’ goaltender Jorgen Johnson had an impressive 43 saves on 40 shots, while the Aggies’ goaltender Titan Anderson also had 43 saves on 48 shots.
Leading the way for the Bobcats was Zachary Lane who scored two goals, and for the Aggies it was Sean Johnston who scored one goal. The Bobcats had a strong all-around team performance, and their defensive play in the third period was especially impressive as they were able to keep the Aggies from scoring any goals.
The Bobcats will look to build off of this win as they travel to face the Aggies again on Saturday night. The Bobcats are off to a great start this season, and with the way they’ve been playing, they’ll be a team to watch as the season progresses.
