The Montana State Bobcats hockey team took to the ice Saturday night in a heated rivalry game against the Weber State Wildcats. Despite an intense battle, the Wildcats were able to come out on top with a 3-2 victory.

The Bobcats put up a valiant effort, outshooting the Wildcats 34-20. Unfortunately, the Wildcats were able to capitalize on their one powerplay opportunity, while the Bobcats went 0-2 on theirs.

In the end, it was the Wildcats’ goaltender, Kyle Lane, who made the difference. He made 32 saves on 34 shots, while Bobcats’ goaltender Jorgen Johnson made 32 saves on 20 shots.

Bobcats’ forward Zachary Lane was able to find the back of the net for their only goal of the game. Wildcats’ forward Andrei Shmakov had two assists in the victory.

The Bobcats may have come up short in this game, but they showed they have the talent and determination to compete with anyone. With a few tweaks to their game, the Bobcats could be a force to be reckoned with in the coming weeks.
