The Montana State University Bobcats hockey team put up a valiant effort against the Weber State University Wildcats on Saturday, October 8th at the Weber County Ice Sheet. The Bobcats had 34 shots to the Wildcats’ 20, but ultimately fell short in the 3-2 loss. The Bobcats powerplay was 0/2 while the Wildcats powerplay was 1/1. Bobcats goaltender Jorgen Johnson had 32 saves on 20 shots, while Wildcats goaltender Kyle Lane had 32 saves on 34 shots.
The Bobcats were led by Zachary Lane who scored the team’s only goal. Wildcats player Andrei Shmakov had two assists for his team. The Bobcats put up a good fight, but ultimately the Wildcats had the edge and took the win. The Bobcats will look to regroup and come back stronger in their next game.
