The Montana State University Bobcats hockey team kicked off their season in style with an impressive 9-1 victory over the Colorado State University Rams at Ressler Ice Rink on Thursday, September 26, 2024. The Bobcats dominated the game from start to finish, outshooting the Rams 53 to 14.

The Rams got on the board first with a goal from #7 Conner Sledz, but that would be the only highlight for the visiting team as the Bobcats quickly took control of the game. Bobcats’ #7 Isaac Ellingson led the charge with two goals, while his teammates contributed to the offensive onslaught.

Despite not capitalizing on their powerplay opportunities, the Bobcats showcased their offensive firepower and strong defensive play throughout the game. Goalie Nikolai Wallery stood tall between the pipes, making 13 saves on 14 shots faced, while the Bobcats’ offense peppered Rams’ goalie Kaleb Bartholomew with 53 shots, resulting in 35 saves.

The Bobcats’ teamwork, skill, and determination were on full display as they opened their season with a resounding victory. The win sets a positive tone for the rest of the season and demonstrates the team’s potential for success in the upcoming games.

Congratulations to the Montana State University Bobcats on their impressive win against the Colorado State University Rams. Let’s keep the momentum going and continue to dominate on the ice throughout the season! Go Bobcats!
