The Montana State University Bobcats hit the ice this past Friday in a tough battle against the University of Saint Thomas Tommies at the TCO Sports Garden. Despite a strong effort from the Bobcats, they fell short with a final score of 0-3 in favor of the Tommies.
Both teams came out firing, with the Bobcats recording an impressive 40 shots on goal while the Tommies closely followed with 41 shots. However, it was the Tommies who managed to capitalize on their opportunities, securing the win.
Special teams played a crucial role in the game, with the Bobcats having three powerplay opportunities but unfortunately going 0/3 on the man advantage. The Tommies also had four powerplay chances but were unable to convert, going 0/4 on the night.
In the net, Bobcats goalie Jorgen Johnson faced a barrage of shots, making an impressive 38 saves out of 41 shots. On the other end, Tommies’ Van Eigner put on a stellar performance, stopping all 40 shots he faced to secure the shutout.
The game was not without its physicality, as Bobcats’ #5 Owen Davis spent a total of 4 penalty minutes in the box. Meanwhile, Tommies’ #5 Parker Wente contributed with 2 assists to help his team secure the victory.
Although the Bobcats faced a tough opponent in the Tommies, they showed resilience and determination throughout the game. With a strong offensive performance and solid goaltending, the Bobcats are sure to bounce back and continue to compete at a high level in the upcoming games.
