The Montana State University Bobcats hockey team showcased their dominance on the ice as they secured a convincing 5-1 victory over the Dakota College-Bottineau Lumberjacks in a thrilling game at Ressler Ice Rink.

The Bobcats came out strong from the start, outshooting the Lumberjacks 51 to 24 throughout the game. Their offensive prowess was on full display as they capitalized on their opportunities, putting up a total of 5 goals to secure the win.

Despite the Lumberjacks’ efforts, their powerplay struggled to convert, going 1 for 9, while the Bobcats managed to score on 1 of their 8 powerplay opportunities. The goaltenders also played a crucial role in the game, with Bobcats’ Nikolai Wallery making 23 saves on 24 shots, and Lumberjacks’ Rylan Labrie facing a barrage of shots with 46 saves on 51 shots.

Individual standout performances included Dodge Long of the Lumberjacks scoring a goal, while Dawson Speth of the Bobcats also found the back of the net to contribute to the team’s success.
