In a spectacular display of offensive prowess, the Montana State University Bobcats annihilated the Montana Tech Orediggers with a final score of 15-1 on Friday night at Butte Community Ice Center. The Bobcats outshot the Orediggers 78-24, demonstrating their superior puck control and offensive pressure.
Bobcats’ goalie, Richie Popson, had a near-perfect game, facing 24 shots and making 23 saves. On the other side of the ice, Orediggers’ Carson Burkart had a tough night, facing a barrage of 78 shots and managing to save 43.
The powerplay game was also in favor of the Bobcats, who converted one of their three opportunities. The Orediggers, on the other hand, failed to capitalize on any of their four powerplay chances.
The star of the night was undoubtedly Bobcats’ #44 Spencer Wilkinson, who netted a hat trick. Orediggers’ only goal came from #21 Jack Delici.
The Bobcats will look to carry this momentum into their next game against the University of Utah on Saturday, November 1 at 4:30 pm MDT at Salt Lake City Sports Complex.
