The Montana State University Bobcats proved their prowess on the ice last night, October 18th, with an astounding 11-3 victory over the University of Providence Argonauts at Ressler Ice Rink.
The Bobcats dominated the game from the outset, outshooting the Argonauts 51 to 38. Their offensive onslaught was led by #44 Spencer Wilkinson, who netted an impressive hat trick. The Bobcats’ powerplay was also highly effective, converting on 3 out of 9 opportunities.
On the other end of the rink, Bobcats’ goalie Nikolai Wallery put on a stellar performance, stopping 35 out of 38 shots. His Argonauts’ counterpart, Chris Fines, had a challenging night, saving 40 out of 51 shots.
Despite their loss, the Argonauts showed some spark with Jamal Shaw (#27) scoring 2 goals and their powerplay converting on 2 out of 9 chances.
The Bobcats will look to carry this momentum into their next game, an away match against Dakota College-Bottineau on Friday, October 24 at 7:00 pm CDT at Bottineau Community Arena, ND.
