In a thrilling face-off at the Salt Lake City Sports Complex, the Montana State University Bobcats were bested by the University of Utah Utes, with a final score of 4-2 on November 1, 2025. Despite outshooting their opponents 43 to 34, the Bobcats couldn’t capitalize on their chances, falling short in the end.

The Bobcats’ powerplay was 1 for 7, while the Utes managed to convert 2 out of their 8 opportunities. Bobcats’ goalie, Richie Popson, bravely faced 34 shots, making 30 saves. On the other end of the ice, Utes’ goalie, Ryan Winkelmann, was put to the test with 43 shots, making an impressive 41 saves.

Bobcats’ #15, Vincent Felt, managed to find the back of the net, but it was not enough to overcome the Utes’ strong performance. Utes’ #16, Maxwell Hove, contributed with 2 assists, helping his team secure the victory.

Despite the loss, the Bobcats showed their fighting spirit and will be looking to bounce back in their next game. They will be facing off against Lindenwood University on Friday, November 14 at 1:45 pm CST at the Centene Community Ice Center in Missouri. We hope to see the Bobcats come back stronger and ready to claim their next victory.
