The Montana State University Bobcats faced a challenging match against the Niagara University Purple Eagles on 13th March 2026. The game, held at Plager Arena-CCIC, ended in a 3-1 victory for the Purple Eagles.

Despite outshooting the Purple Eagles 32 to 21, the Bobcats were unable to convert their chances into goals. The Purple Eagles, on the other hand, capitalized on their opportunities, scoring three times on 21 shots. The Bobcats’ powerplay struggled, going 0 for 4, while the Purple Eagles managed to score once on their seven powerplay opportunities.

In the net, Bobcats’ goalie Nikolai Wallery faced 21 shots, saving 18 of them. His counterpart, Josh Lacelle of the Purple Eagles, had a stellar game, saving 31 of the 32 shots he faced.

The lone goal for the Bobcats was scored by #11 Hayden Klem, while #71 Aiden Waters found the back of the net for the Purple Eagles.

The Bobcats will be looking to bounce back from this defeat in their next game. They will be hosting Penn State University on Saturday, March 14th at 5:30 pm CDT at Plager Arena-CCIC. We hope to see our Bobcats fans there, rooting for the team.
