Bobcats Fall to Wildcats in Overtime Thriller

In a nail-biting contest that went down to the wire, the Montana State University Bobcats fell to the Weber State University Wildcats 4-3 in overtime on Sunday night at the Weber County Ice Sheet.

Despite the Bobcats firing 37 shots on goal, the Wildcats managed to outshoot them with a total of 45 attempts. The Bobcats’ powerplay was more efficient, converting 1 out of 2 opportunities, while the Wildcats only managed to convert 1 out of their 5 chances.

Bobcats’ goalie, Callum Welch, had a busy night, facing 45 shots and making an impressive 41 saves. On the other side of the ice, Wildcats’ goalie Owen Yancey stopped 34 out of 37 shots.

Bobcats’ Landen Hindman was a standout player, contributing 2 assists. However, it was the Wildcats’ Caden Hunter who stole the show with 2 goals, including the game-winner in overtime.

This loss leaves the Bobcats looking for redemption in their next game, away versus Montana Tech on Thursday, October 8 at 7:30 pm MDT at the Butte Community Ice Center. Despite the setback, the Bobcats showed great resilience and are expected to bounce back strong in their upcoming game.
