Cats in the
Community
Montana State Hockey · Volunteering · Outreach
Our players are a regular presence in Bozeman's youth hockey scene. Players volunteer at practices to mentor young skaters. As members of the Bozeman community it is important that we give back.
Annually, we host public skating events that bring fans and local families directly onto the ice with our players. Skate with the Bobcats gives the community a chance to connect with the team outside of game nights.
Service is part of what it means to be a Bobcat. Every player has access to volunteer opportunities through the program. The program was honored with MSU Community Service Award in 2020.
Three nights every season carry meaning beyond the scoreboard. They are how we say thank you to the community, raise money for causes that matter, and honor the people who make this program possible.
Military Appreciation
A night dedicated to active duty service members, veterans, and their families. Free admission for service members in uniform, special pre-game ceremonies, and recognition of the people who make our freedoms possible.
Pink the Rink
The Bobcats wear custom pink jerseys and play in support of breast cancer awareness. Game-worn jerseys are auctioned off after the final buzzer, with proceeds going to local cancer support organizations and patient care programs.
Senior Night
The last regular season home game of the year, dedicated to our graduating seniors. Players are honored on the ice with their families before puck drop — a thank you for the years of work, the leadership, and everything they have given to this program.
Game
The Bobcats work closely with the Bozeman Amateur Hockey Association and the local youth hockey community to support beginner programs and junior development across the city.
Players regularly volunteer with youth hockey programs in Bozeman — helping run practices, assisting coaches, and spending time with kids who look up to them. The goal is simple: make sure every kid knows who the Bobcats are.
Several Bobcat players are involved in junior coaching roles within the BAHA system, passing on skills and developing the next wave of Montana hockey talent from the ice up.
The team supports beginner hockey initiatives that introduce kids and adults to the sport for the first time. Accessible hockey has always been part of the program's DNA and it starts here.
The Bobcats operate with the support of the Bozeman Amateur Hockey Association. That relationship extends into the community — shared facilities, shared goals, and a shared commitment to growing hockey in Montana.
Have an idea for a collaboration, a school event, or a community outreach opportunity? We want to hear it. Reach out and let's make something happen.
