by MSU Bobcats Hockey | Oct 17, 2026

In a game that was more closely contested than the final score would suggest, the Montana State University Bobcats fell to the Florida Gulf Coast University Eagles 4-2 at Hertz Arena on Saturday, October 16, 2026.

Despite the Bobcats’ relentless offensive efforts, resulting in 29 shots on goal, the Eagles’ defensive line and goalie, Frank Cambria, were able to hold strong. Cambria ended the game with an impressive 27 saves, thwarting the Bobcats’ attempts to even the score.

The Bobcats’ power play was able to convert once out of six attempts, while the Eagles capitalized twice on their six power plays. The Bobcats’ goalie, Tj Wonnacott, showed commendable resilience against the Eagles’ 39 shots, making 35 saves.

Bobcats’ Hudson Kerr was the standout player for his team, scoring both of their goals. On the Eagles’ side, Chad Noetzel matched Kerr’s effort with two goals of his own, contributing significantly to his team’s victory.

Despite the loss, the Bobcats showed promising signs of resilience and teamwork. They will have a chance to redeem themselves in their next game against the Eagles at Hertz Arena on Saturday, October 17, at 6:00 pm EDT.
