The Montana State University Bobcats put on a show at the Butte Community Ice Center on Friday night, outshooting the Montana Tech Orediggers 64-26 to secure a resounding 5-0 victory.

The Bobcats’ offensive effort was spearheaded by Vincent Felt, who found the back of the net twice. Despite numerous powerplay opportunities for both teams, with the Bobcats at 0/12 and the Orediggers at 0/11, neither team was able to capitalize on their man advantages.

In the crease, Bobcats’ goalie Richie Popson had a perfect night, turning away all 26 shots he faced. On the other end, Orediggers’ Carson Burkart had a busy night, making 59 saves on a whopping 64 shots.

The Orediggers’ Tye Carriere found himself in the penalty box frequently, racking up 12 penalty minutes.

The Bobcats will look to continue their winning ways as they travel to Glacier Ice Rink to take on the University of Montana on Friday, October 9 at 7:30 pm MDT. After such a dominant performance, the Bobcats will certainly be a team to watch in the coming weeks.
